Guest Reviews"Very good feeling to stay in a genuine English hotel. Staff were helpful and locals, food was excellent, general atmosphere of an old style hotel was terrific. Period decor in dining and lounge areas was really good. " Anonymous, written 08/10/2008 "In general, front house staff were very friendly and helpful at all times - as were all other personnel we had contact with. I had to change a bulb, obtained from reception, for one of the bedside lamps. The second day, I had to get more shower gel from reception too - the chambermaid simply did not provide any replacements during our three night stay. Compared to most continental hotels (and some equivalent British ones) the breakfast buffet was woefully inadequate. For example, is it not possible to get fresh croissants in Durham, rather than pre-wrapped industrial rubbish?" Richard from Palma de Mallorca, written 08/05/2008
