The hotel has been personally owned by the same family for over 50 years and offers 43 individually furnished bedrooms and suites. There are a number of family and ground floor rooms, as well as 2 rooms with wet-room style bathrooms, ideal for people with mobility difficulties.
There are 2 spacious and comfortable lounges plus a choice of dining rooms. The elegant Westonbirt Restaurant offers a fine selection of British and European dishes, utilising seasonal and local produce wherever possible. The informal menus in Jack Hare’s are also seasonal, featuring some classic pub dishes served in traditional pub surroundings.
The hotel runs a series of themed events including ‘celebrity dance breaks’ with Anton du Beke and Erin Boag, which have proved to be hugely popular and bookable directly with the hotel. Similarly, a superb Christmas package and New Year holiday are also bookable via the hotel. Directions to Hare & Hounds Hotel: By road Excellent access to m4 and m5 from London (100 miles), the Midlands and the South West. 10 miles from m4 exit 17 and 15 miles from m5 - see below. Exit the M4 at Junction 17 and take the A429 toward Cirencester. Follow the A429 through the village of Corston to Malmesbury. At Malmesbury go straight over the roundabout to take the Malmesbury bypass. When you reach the end of the bypass go straight over the roundabout toward Cirencester, a BP petrol station and car dealer will be on your right hand side. Take the left turn after the petrol station, the B4014, signposted to Tetbury. Follow the B4014 through the village of Long Newnton and into Tetbury. In the centre of Tetbury turn left, following the signs towards Bath (A433). Take the Bath road out of Tetbury for two and a half miles, passing through Doughton, until you reach Westonbirt. The Hare and Hounds is on the right just after the crossroads. Exit the M5 at Junction 11A and follow the A417 toward Cirencester. On reaching Cirencester follow the signs around the bypass for the A429, signposted to Tetbury. In the middle of Tetbury follow the signs for Bath (A433), and follow this road out of Tetbury for two and a half miles until you reach Westonbirt. The Hare and Hounds is on the right hand side just after the crossroads. BY RAIL 13 miles from Chippenham mainline railway station with frequent 125 service to Paddington/Bristol.
