| Originally an 18th century farmhouse, Bankfield House offers a warm and comfortable welcome to all. Set in lovely grounds with log fires in the bar and lounge, the peaceful rural setting offers a perfect base from which to explore the delights of the Western Coast and Lake District. Our restaurant offers a wide selection of local produce freshly prepared, open all day to cater to your needs. Our individually furnished rooms range from a four poster with spa bath and walk in shower, family rooms and a cosy single, all en suite. Bankfield House has 5 individually furnished bedrooms, a lounge with open fire, a bar also with open fire, and two dining rooms. Directions to Bankfield House Country Hotel and Restaurant: By car take junction 36 from the M6 and then on to the A590 towards Barrow. Carry on through Newby bridge and after approx 6 miles turn right at Greenodd onto the A595 Workington (Millom). Carry on for approx 17 miles past Foxfield and Broughton, keep going on the A595. DO NOT take the Millom road, stay on the A595 through the valley till you reach a T junction. Turn left and keep going past Silecroft and on into Kirksanton. Go through the village and after the second level crossing, we are on the left. This should take you approx 1 hour from the motorway. By rail to Millom and taxi to bankfield.
