Rotthauser Str. 40, Essen, Ruhrgebiet, Nordrhein-Westfalen, 45309, Germany [map] | | The Hotel Alte Lohnhalle Kultur- & Tagungshotel (cultural/business hotel) is one of the most unusual hotels in the Ruhr region. There are several attractive preserved coal mines in the region, but what makes this hotel special is its combination of industrial heritage and individual hospitality. The mine hotel was built in a neo-Gothic style in 1903 and provides the centre point of the "Zeche Bonifacius“ monument.
This extraordinary building offers a 16-metre high, 170 m2 cathedral style hall around which the rooms are grouped: a unique setting for meetings and special events.
In addition, the hotel offers "RevierRad" bicycle hire as well as a Hotel-KombiTicket (only on request), which entitles you to free public transport within the Rhine-Ruhr region ("VRR") for the duration of your stay. This ticket can be obtained at reception.
New: Our guests can use the training and sauna area in the "Essener Fitness Camp" free of charge (just 50 metres from the hotel). Room Details
